The Making of a Photobook
5.6 Photo Club, Kyiv, Ukraine
November 2017 - June 2018
Instructors: Jenia Fridlyand and Margo Ovcharenko

In continuation of it's partnership with Photoclub 5,6, Image Threads is currently conducting an extended course "The Making of a Photobook", which covers all the steps of a photobook creation. The first five months, participants regularly meet with instructors online, in groups and one-on-one, while articulating the concept and continuing to photograph for their project.  During that time, they will also begin to edit and sequence their images. Two 3-day intensives will take place in Kiev in March and June of 2018, where the participants will focus on finalizing the edit and creating the physical dummy.

Photobook Workshop
5.6 Photo Club, Kyiv, Ukraine
August 9 – 11, 2017
Instructors: Jenia Fridlyand and Margo Ovcharenko

In partnership with the 5.6 Photo Club, we ran an intensive three day workshop, with a focus on participants’ on-going photo projects and photobooks. An introductory lecture on photobooks was followed by editing exercises and group discussions and individual work.  Participants expanded their knowledge base and progressed in the editing and sequencing of their projects; they left with the starting block for their own photobooks and a more thorough understanding of the creation process.
